La Chatte Gitane (or The Gypsy Cat) was the name we chose for our cottage in France at the time. We chose it while on the road, moving house the first time round, from Ireland to France with 2 dogs and 7 cats in the car.
This blog began its insignificant life as a recipe book for friends and family who would ask me repeatedly for a recipe of this, that and the other.
Since then it has taken many different directions, like we did and like gypsies tend to do. Sometimes making a U-turn and revisiting familiar roads and taking a break when necessary.
You'll find recipes here, but also musings about the places we've called home, the gardens that we've established, not always successfully, the homes we've improved and the environments we've lived in. Currently, after yet another stint in Ireland, we're back in France @ Le Mas d'Ayen

And so it is ready.

I've been spending many days  creating the website for our new venture. Only the English version has been published so far, as I am still working on the Dutch and French sites.

I have to thank the previous owners of Le Mas, Arie and Bernadette, for giving me permission to use some of their pictures for the website. It is a bit hard to try and promote a place for summer hols, if you only have the chance take  photos in the bleak midwinter.

So please take a look and browse. Report back if you see grammatical or spelling mistakes, or if you find the flow of the site a bit meh.

It was fun to draw out a plan of the campsite. Have a glimpse below.

Thanks for visiting

  1. Salut! The place looks great & I really like the site map that you rendered. With respect to grammar, I would replace 'welcome' with the gerund 'welcoming', so that the phrase in the Welcome section reads: 'we look forward to welcoming you'. Your website is use-friendly, easy-on-eyes, and, of course, welcoming! :D

    Bonne Chance with everything!

    1. Thank you, Bea ! Changed it !
I had written it with "welcoming" at first and then I thought "welcome" was the right way.

      Much appreciated xxx...x

I'll try and keep the blog running, at least now there is something to report on again. Life had come a bit to a standstill before.
I'm looking forward to your next post too. xxx...x
